Brenda George Nothing beautiful in this world |
ABOUT THE BOOK To date, ‘Simply a Collection’ has raised over $20,000 for the McGrath Foundation. Simply a Collection was written and compiled by Brenda George during her fight with breast cancer. She was taken from us all too soon in May 2003. For 34 years Brenda lived on a wheat and sheep farm at Minnipa on the West Coast of South Australia with her husband Leighton. It was here that they raised four daughters, who now between them have 6 grandsons. Brenda had a love of cooking. Compiling the cook book during her illness kept her busy on the computer for many hours, while also knowing that she would be able to pass on her love of cooking. The book includes many of Brendas tried and tested recipes. There are over 130 recipes in this book from savouries, soups, salads, cakes, scones, muffins, biscuits, puddings, pavs, pancakes, tarts, mornays, meatballs and main meals to sauces, spreads & simple things. Her daughters love to use the cook book, while her extended family and many friends also enjoy cooking from this simple collection of recipes - nothing beats quick and easy country cooking. In Brendas memory her daughters decided to publish the book, to share the recipes with Australia. Proceeds from the book go to the McGrath foundation. Brenda’s strength and courage during her illness was an inspiration to all and she is sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory continues to live on as we share with you, her wonderful recipes. Proceeds from the sale of this book go to the McGrath foundation. |
